With the exception of the last two paragraphs, most of the information found on the About Us page has nothing to do with the Olsen Insurance and Financial Services Agency. All of this information is just a few of the activities and Not-For-Profit organizations that Douglas and his family have been contributing to for over 11 years. The Olsen’s family first priority is with the family. Having the belief of “Family comes first” has allowed for more than enough room for these contributions, and will allow for continued efforts for years to come.

Douglas is an active member with our local and surrounding communities. One example is with his involvement is with the Adopt-A-Highway litter control program. You will also find him assisting the Safety Board with the CB housing group. As an active member with this group, Douglas contributes his knowledge and time to help this team find ways to keep all of its community members safe and proud of its community.

The Olsen’s are actively involved with the Habitat for Humanity group. This organization helps build homes for several communities throughout the world. “Since its founding in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity International has built and rehabilitated more than 150,000 houses with families in need, becoming a true world leader in addressing the issues of poverty housing.”

The Olsen’s are also actively involved with the Kent Sunrise Rotary. The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.

The March of Dimes, United Way and the Children’s Hospital top the list of groups who receive yearly financial and sponsorship donations from his family.

The desire to help others does not stop with just those in obvious need. Douglas started this agency to help as many individuals, families, and small businesses as possible, make since of the world of insurance. Douglas sees this point like this; “Why should any of us work so hard for all those things we feel are important, and in the mean time think we have great insurance, to end up finding out we did not, and loose it all in that split instant it takes for an accident to happen?”
